Now here’s the cool part: each stroker pops out of a plastic egg, all ready to roll with its own mini lube pack. Basically, it’s an instant party in a super portable size. The six-pack even comes in a clear egg carton - perfect for keeping ‘em all together. But, you know, if you keep the carton on your nightstand, it might raise a few eyebrows - because who keeps half a dozen eggs in their bedroom, right?

Crack open the egg and voila - there’s your stroker, complete with lube and a tiny piece of plastic to keep the toy from sticking to itself. It’s like a Kinder Surprise for grown-ups but way more fun.

The stroker feels super comfy in your hand, it’s no bigger than an egg – about 2 inches across and 2.5 inches long. The soft, stretchy, body-safe TPE material feels amazing and can stretch to close to 8 inches long and nearly 4 inches across - pretty sure that’ll cover most guys out there. And to make sure you keep a firm grip on the action, they’ve added cool Kraken arm designs outside.

Textures

First off, the Kraken comes in six different textures. The textures are chosen at random and there is no indication on the outside of the toy what texture it is. Part of the mystery of the deep I guess, but I would prefer to choose the textures that I like.

• Submerge: “Suckered tentacles for maximum grip” - Submerge generally felt pretty good without any hot spots or annoyances.
• Tidal: “Ocean wave design for textured turning” - Again, Tidal generally felt pretty good.
• Voyage: “Multiple pressure points of various shapes and sizes” - Voyage mostly feels good but a few spots of the texture are much more noticeable than others.
• Harpoon: “Long vertical design for quick thrusting” - Harpoon felt great, especially with a little bit of twisting and higher speed.
• Whirlpool: “Twisting ridges designed for turning” - Whirlpool was possibly the most effective, the little ridges felt great on the head.
• Riptide: “Combination of flowing ridges and bumps” - Riptide was my second favorite, it works for everything.

Portable and Discrete

The egg shaped case easily stood up to a weekend of travel in my bag without cracking open. The size really is small enough to throw in a bag if you want some fun on the run. It also stood up to a simple test of it’s camouflage. I left it out in plain view a few times on my trip and it was never commented on.

Doing the Deed

When you’re finally ready to get down to business, you’ll find a small plastic plug inside the Kraken, with a little pouch of lube and a wholly unnecessary instruction sheet packed inside. Seriously, who needs these instructions? Apply lube, crank it, cum.

Anyway, the included lube is water based and works just fine. You may be tempted to just dump the whole packet inside the toy, and that works fine, but I have one small suggestion. The extreme flexibility of the toy actually makes first insertion a little difficult, so apply a bit of lube on the tip of your tool first and it’s much easier.

Once you’re in, you will find the Kraken is easy to hold, and the texturing on the outside works well to prevent slipping. The material had no problem stretching to provide total stimulation. Between the small opening and the stretchy material, it is easy for the toy to create a vacuum, causing a lovely sucking sensation that can really turn up the intensity.

When you’re using the Kraken, be sure to try some different grips than you’re used to with just your hand. This lets you experience different sensations and really lets the internal texturing shine. It also might help prevent death grip.

Some of my favorites are:

Standard Stroke

Grip the Kraken at the very bottom where the material is thickest. Make a circle with one or two fingers and your thumb and stroke with just the base. The rest of the Kraken will stretch over your tool.

By not gripping the entire toy, you reduce the pressure and let the texture of the Kraken tease you instead of just pressure and friction.

Fingertip Push

Place your hand over the top of the Kraken, letting your fingers extend along the shaft. Use your finger tips to lightly grip the base where the material is thicker and push it down along your shaft.

Since this is a different motion than you’re used to, it feels more like someone else is doing it. The lighter pressure and different motion also really allow the internal textures to work their magic, especially along the sensitive head of your member.

Twirl

Use just a couple of fingers to press on the spot just beneath the head on the underside of your penis. Gently twist back and forth, incorporating some gentle stroking if you want.

This spot is called the frenulum and is typically extra sensitive. The frenulum contains many nerve endings that are more sensitive to light pressure that the textured inside of the Kraken is great at stimulating.

Cleanup and Reuse

The stretchy material creates a tight seal that is great at containing any deposits. The mild vacuum even causes this to have a very unique sensation that is a lot of fun. Lovense suggests that you should throw away your Kraken after you’re done and if you don’t want a mess this is a great option. Between Kraken swallowing your load and the water based lube, cleanup is really no big deal.

However, during my testing I found that it is pretty easy to wash the Kraken out and reuse it. Dump it out and turn it inside out under running water allows and easy clean, even easier than most permanent toys. If you want a more thorough clean then use any of the many available toy cleaner options instead of soap. I was able to reuse a single Kraken 5 times before it started to wear out and the sensations were noticeable weakened.

Worth It?

The disposable nature of the Kraken means that the value proposition is a little bit more personal than usual. It really depends on how often you plan on using one or if the benefits of a no mess no fuss wank really appeal to you.

Ultimately, the Kraken is basically just a male stroker in a crowded market. If you have a favorite brand, go with that. If you want to try out a whole bunch of sensations, trying the Kraken is definitely worth it. If you would prefer to spend about the same amount and instead get a longer lasting toy that you will clean with every use, you do you.

Compared to other options on the market, the Kraken does seem to be very fairly priced though. A single stroker will set you back $5 while a six pack will be $30. This puts the Kraken squarely in the middle of the market price wise.

But what I can say is that for me, the Kraken was extremely effective, it has been able to consistently finish the job as fast as I am ready throughout my testing. It will probably stay in my toy box, if only for those times when I just want to crank one out and not have any mess to deal with.
