Getting Down to Business
When it is time to use the Spin Stroker, Cake suggests using their So-Low Lotion so that’s what I tried first. I had to apply a lot of the lotion to the inside of the stroker before the toy was able to rotate freely without too much friction. That may be due to the girth of my particular tool, but I’d suggest a more slippery lube like Toy Wonder. With a slicker lube the smooth texture of Cake’s silicone really shines, the massage beads do a good job stimulating all over your head and shaft.
The controls allow you to mix and match between the 5 rotation and 10 vibration modes. Each function has it’s own dedicated button so it is easy to fine tune for your preferences.
Starting with the vibration, it has different power levels and patterns. The detachable head does need to be well seated in order for the vibrator to function, but just a slightly push is all that is needed. That’s only a concern if you’re using the toy like a traditional stroker with pushing and pulling motions. When you’re using the vibration alone it can deliver quite a bunch at the higher settings.
The spinner spins in both directions and at different speeds. The lower speeds were surprisingly effective at teasing me to an impressive erection. I can’t really say that the higher speeds were better though. The higher settings really had trouble not bogging down and the friction made it harder to hold the toy. With a little more lube I was able to get it spinning faster but this was actually a worse experience. Between the faster speed and much more lube, it was kind of a mess and the individual massage beads kind of blended together into just a single underwhelming sensation. The vibration is also completely overwhelmed by the spinning, I really couldn’t feel the vibration at all once it started spinning.
The Spin Stroker is fully waterproof so you can use it in almost any situation you can dream up. But Cake does suggest using caution in warmer environments like the tub or shower. The silicone is very good at warming to your body temperature and hot water can make it get even warmer, sometimes uncomfortably so. And when the job is done, the toy breaks into two parts for easy cleaning with water or a mild soap or dedicated toy cleaner.
Worth It?
I’m going to pass on this one. I’ll give Cake credit for developing something that’s new, I’ve never tried a spinning toy before, and what they produced is high quality. But it just doesn’t work for me.
The spinning does feel pretty good, but it’s not enough to get me there. After just a little while I sort of became numb to the sensation. To me the motor didn’t seem powerful enough either. In order to get the thing spinning I had to use a lot of lube which made a terrible mess and even then it liked to bog down. But I’m not sure they could really make it any more powerful without it accidentally twisting off your wrist, or your dick. Honestly I got much better results leaving the spinning off and just using the relatively weak vibration and stroking with it. But that’s not worth your hard earned $45.
If you’re looking for an alternative I would save your money and just go for the plain jane Stroker from Cake or the impressive Arcwave Ghost. There are a few others producing spinning toys now but they almost universally appear to be low quality and I’m not really sure how this thing could be improved so I haven’t bothered to review any of them yet. If you have one that you like or really want to know more about, reach out on our contact page and we will try to review it.
